If I was writing by how I’m feeling at the moment I would’ve given them a one star, but as annoyed as I am I need to be fair and give them what they deserve. The doctor therapists and aids are so sweet, friendly, patient, professional, and knowledgeable. I really enjoyed every appointment, it’s like going to a friends house and just chitchatting well taking care of a medical issue that needs to be tended to. The reason for my frustration is that I planned my appointments around the factthat I am starting a new job and I would like to have this taken care of before I start. I made it very clear to my therapist several days ago when she checked to see if there is an appointment available this morning because I was seeing my other Doctor Who needed the results by 2 PM my appointment time, and she reassured me that that wasn’t a problem and it would be there. I got to my second doctors appointment and no progress reports were sent so I called the office, I was told to just tell my doctor that it’s the same and I need surgery, I felt a little confused because that was the whole point of going to therapy so that he could get an opinion after my therapy to see if he needs to proceed with surgery. Unfortunately that did not happen so now I’m waiting in the wins and will be starting my job on Monday most likely before I could get any kind of resolution and it’s very frustrating considering I started this whole process last October to make sure that if I did need surgery it would all be taken care of before I started looking for jobs and now here we are. Oh well maybe if I wasn’t so organized it would’ve worked out differently, I really feel like communication is the best way to go if you want something accomplished properly and in a timely manner, but this time I guess it just didn’t work. Regardless yes I would choose to go to this location again and yes everything else there was perfect!!!

Hands On Care is the real deal! If you’re willing to listen and work hard, they will make unbelievable changes in your ailment.
My story…. I crashed my Mountain Bike riding in Lake Tahoe in July 2017. I broke the ulna and radius in both arms, broke one thumb, damaged my brachial plexus, broke my T9 vertebrae and had a head injury. I spent nearly 3 weeks at a Reno Hospital for surgery, recovery and in-patient rehab. A Lake Tahoe therapist and a Reno therapist both recommended Hands On Care for continued therapy when I got home to San Jose in August.
The therapist 1) pointed out a dangerous infection in my right arm during my first visit 2) connected me with a surgeon @ Stanford to immediately remove the infection and install titanium plates 3) Got me from a state of upper body immobility (someone had to feed me and wipe my Butt) to 85% mobility playing guitar with two bands/working/driving and carrying my 2 year old and 4 year old kids again. I’m squeezing out the last 15% now through weekly visits to HandsOnCare and stretches/exercises at my gym.
I would highly recommend Hands on Care, they made a major change in my life and got me out of what was quite literally a mid-life crisis.

I suffered a traumatic injury on my right hand that severed 10 tendons, 2 nerves and the ulnar artery. This happened last summer and within 48 hours, after a 13 hour surgery, the surgeon had requested that I immediately go to Hands On Care, which I did.
Upon entering the clinic, my therapist was very driven to start treating my wound which was all bandaged up from surgery. She very carefully removed all bandages, reapplied new wound care treatment to the stitches and prepared a custom brace for my hand to keep it immobile.
For the next few months I went to therapy 5 times a week then 4 and now 3 and can honestly say that I can move my wrist with full motion, my grip is strong and I can fully extend all fingers.
All this progress is not because I sat back and enjoyed the show but rather it’s a full commitment from both myself and my therapist. She is very demanding and knowledgeable and it’s what I need in a therapist.
If you’re looking for a cute and trendy place with a quiet and airy atmosphere- leave, this is not your place. But if you want to treat your injury and get better then this is your place.

Hands On Care comes highly recommended in my book.
My first encounter with HOC was back in May 2009. I had broken my 5th metacarpal, and after the cast came off, my doctor recommended Hands On Care for therapy to get my hand functioning again. The therapist and her staff were pleasent to work with which made for a speedy recovery.
In August 2017 I had a very traumatic horse accident, fracturing and dislocating both my left wrist and shoulder. This resulted in surgery with plates and pins to hold things in place during the healing process. I contacted HOC to begin therapy. When I walked in to the office, the staff were very nice and attentive. I’m eight months into a very long and slow recovery, and have gone from having very little function and limited motion in my left shoulder and wrist, to having full function of my wrist and 75% function in my shoulder. Still working with my doctor on my shoulder injury with on going therapy at HOC. As my doctor has indicated, my injury will take time to heal (Year +) and to be patient. Knowing this I’m grateful to have HOC to be the ones to help me though my recovery. They are fun to be around, and are always trying to make thier patients experience a pleasant one. Look forward in continued therapy and fun times at HOC. BIG THANKS to all you’ve done for me and my recovery.

I wish more therapists had the extensive training that HOC has had. I was sent to two different groups before finally being referred to Hands On Care! It took them one minute to figure out what was wrong with my hand.
I highly recommend Hands on Care for occupational therapy!

Great staff and friendly environment. So far, the treatment and care had been spot on! The therapists work hard going from orient to patient, while still managing office and phone responsibilities. Must be tough!!! But they always smile! Although surgery is unenviable, the therapy is helping offset the pain!

I am very glad that I ended up at your office. It was my request to Dr. McCoy that I see you, I was just glad that I had the connection and could count on you. I was afraid initially that I would worsen if we worked on things, but strangely, my hands feel fine after my visit. I look forward to it now, and just pray this is a temporary flare-up, so I can get back to the medical work I love. I hope I can avoid surgery.
Thank You HOC for being my guide. I am so eager to move past this. !!
Namaste
